Obama’s Global Warming Prophecies: “Submerged Countries, Abandoned Cities, Fields no Longer Growing”

The global warming alarmists have been making predictions for decades. None of them has come true. But that hasn’t stopped them from making predictions, and it hasn’t stopped naïve people from believing them.

Obama will be in Alaska this week, where he’ll be continuing to try to scare people about global warming. The Blaze reported:

“If we stopped trying to build a clean energy economy and reduce carbon pollution, if we do nothing to prevent glaciers from melting faster and oceans from rising faster, and forests from burning faster and storms from growing stronger, we will condemn our children to a planet beyond their capacity to repair,” Obama said speaking at the GLACIER Conference.

The president explained the consequences would be: “submerged countries, abandoned cities, fields no longer growing, indigenous people who can’t carry out traditions that stretch back millennial, entire industries of people who can’t practice their livelihoods, desperate refugees seeking the sanctuary of nations not their own, political disruptions that could trigger multiple conflicts around the globe.”

GLACIER stands for Global Leadership in the Arctic: Cooperation, Innovation, Engagement and Resilience.

The president went on to blast those who are skeptical of climate change.

“Any so called leader who does not take this issue seriously or treats it like a joke is not fit to lead,” Obama said. “On this issue, of all issues, there is such a thing as being too late. And that moment is almost upon us.”

The president noted the agreement the United States and China reached to reduce carbon emissions. But, he added, even those countries can’t do it alone and it will require a global agreement at the upcoming climate conference in Paris.

“This year in Paris has to be the year that the world finally reaches an agreement to protect the one planet we’ve got while we still can,” Obama said.

Otherwise, the president presented a somewhat frightening future.

“People will suffer. Economies will suffer. Entire nations will find themselves under severe, severe problems,” Obama said. “More drought. More floods. Rising sea levels. Greater migration. More refugees. More scarcity. More conflict.”

The predictions keep getting more ridiculous to elicit the most fear from voters. People will do anything, give up liberties, pay more taxes, use more expensive, inefficient and rationed energy sources, to feel safe.

It’s not unlike the fear and paranoia surrounding terrorism. The whole point of terrorism is to scare people. But just look at how many Americans have died from terrorism. Relatively speaking, not that many. Far more people die from car accidents and diseases than from terrorist attacks. Yet, most people aren’t particularly scared by the threat of car accidents or diseases.

This is why governments, including our own, love the idea of terrorism so much. It’s the perfect scapegoat to take away our liberties without much protest from the people. In fact, many people unknowingly beg for the government to take away freedoms and liberties in the name of keeping us safe from the threat of terrorism.

Global warming is no different. It’s just that it appeals more to the left. It’s the left’s version of terrorism. The left has been historically skeptical of terrorism, mostly because of Bush’s “War on Terror.” They’re not as skeptical now, since Obama’s been in office and has embraced the idea as well, albeit in a different way.

Liberals tend to stick to protecting the environment over human life. So, naturally, they’re going to be drawn to something like global warming, which they believe threatens our very existence. They claim to be concerned with civil liberties, which allegedly fueled their skepticism about the war on terror. But when it comes to the environment, civil liberties aren’t nearly as important as averting an environmental apocalypse, especially since we evil human beings would be the cause.
